It is only Firefox that links all three apparently. Yet, I can easily set the default viewer for PDF files to a different program (SumatraPDF) and it doesn't affect HTM or HTML files. pdf" at the top when attempting to make changes to any of those three file types. other than the fact that it says "Notice - Changing the properties of this file type may affect the following extensions. Also tried NirSoft FileTypesMan to see if it revealed anything useful and it doesn't. I'm fairly savvy with this stuff, and I'm comfortable with Regedit, but nothing I have tried has fixed this. For example, if you sort by "Type" (which normally works to separate different file types) PDF, HTM and HTML files are all mixed together because Firefox forces Windows to label them all as "Firefox HTML Document". I actually like using Firefox as the default PDF viewer on my PC, but doing so makes sorting files in Windows Explorer extremely irritating.
